چکیده
Extraction and fractionation were carried out to concentrate the rosmarinic acid from Orthosiphon aristatus in order increase value of herbal candy formulated using polyphenolic rich extract. The herb was extracted fractionated column chromatography, then analyzed by LC-MS/MS. collected plant fractions with similar chromatographic profiles combined determined for antioxidant capacities expressed radical scavenging activity. results showed that capacity good agreement concentration fractions. fraction II highest content, 3.8%w/w (IC50=14.922 ppm). incorporation extract into formulation did not statistically affect capacity. Hence, could be another choice ingredient enhance beneficial property candies. Candy is form carrier deliver health promotion.

The effect of tea fermentation on rosmarinic acid and antioxidant properties using selected in vitro sprout culture of Orthosiphon aristatus as a model study
Orthosiphon aristatus, an Indonesian medicinal plant, is normally used as a traditional herbal tea. Recently, this plant has begun to attract attention due to its antioxidant properties. However, little is known about tea fermentation effect on antioxidant properties of this plant. Thus, to extend the tea fermentation study, in vitro sprout culture of this plant was established as a new feature...

Aims: Cholestasis is a type of liver disease due to structural damage and dysfunction of hepatobiliary system which at first, results in accumulation of bile acids and other toxins in plasma and hepatic tissue. The aim of the current study was to investigate the possible hepatoprotective effects of rosmarinic acid against oxidative stress and liver injury in bile duct ligation (BDL)- induced ch...
متن کاملTwo New Enzymes of Rosmarinic Acid Biosynthesis from Cell Cultures of Coleus blumei: Hydroxyphenylpyruvate Reductase and Rosmarinic Acid Synthase
Rosmarinic acid biosynthesis can be stimulated in cell cultures of Coleus blumei by culturing the cells in medium with 4% sucrose. In enzyme extracts of these cells two new enzymes of rosmarinic acid biosynthesis were discovered. Hydroxyphenylpyruvate reductase reduces 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpyruvate to 4-hydroxyphenyllactate and 3,4-dihydroxyphenyllactate, respectively,...

Periodontitis is a chronic disease associated with inflammation of the tooth-supporting tissues. The inflammation is initiated by a group of gram-negative anaerobic bacteria. These express a number of irritating factors including a lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which plays a key role in periodontal disease development. Plant extracts with anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties have been sh...
متن کاملRosmarinic Acid, a Rosemary Extract Polyphenol, Increases Skeletal Muscle Cell Glucose Uptake and Activates AMPK.
Skeletal muscle is a major insulin-target tissue and plays an important role in glucose homeostasis. Impaired insulin action in muscles leads to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. 5' AMP-activated kinase (AMPK) is an energy sensor, its activation increases glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and AMPK activators have been viewed as a targeted approach in combating insulin resistance....
